A desperate young man takes his life hoping for nothingness, only to find an existence in an afterlife full of its own troubles and challenges. The aunt who appears when he awakens, the damaged girl who seeks solace tending her roses, a Chicago cop he fears will discover his past, an alluring young woman all lead him through his discovery of this new world.

The Searchers follows these people and their classmates at a spiritual academy where they are given the opportunity to learn eternal truths and about themselves. While some will move on to heaven, others discover a place we might call hell, but they will call home.
